The Endless Study of Plants.

An exploration of mediums. A series rooted by the isolation of the plant, plant pot and the table or plinth upon which it sits.

Serving as reminders to the viewer that plant pots are a venue for witnessing an intentional, purposeful life; planted, growing, living and finally dying.

Moreover, the plant pot itself is a man-made object. Helpful to sustain and show-off nature's inherent beauty. Carefully designed and shaped reflecting the maker's own narrative heritage; the material it's made from to where and how it was made.

The colourful plant-life imagery in my artwork began appearing in 2023. Varying conditions of the plant or it's vessel will suggest my state of mind when making the image.

Many images in this series are imagined but certainly inspired by elements of real plants/trees/flora that I'll have seen or (mysteriously) see after finishing a piece.

Placed on a plinth or table, composing the images with a focus on the centre.

There is a lot of hope and potential within a plant pot.
We can choose to nurture or disregard this potential.
